It’s well appointed. Uniquely decorated with some steam punk references and traditional tiled floors. Beautifully renovated in keeping with the age of the property but with a modern twist. Their Christmas decorations throughout the hotel and nearby Guest House were stunning and not just public areas. The lounges were comfortable and welcoming and well lit. We actually sat in the guest house lounge and chilled in comfortable Chesterfields. After a day sight seeing and shopping it was a welcome relief We stayed in room 4 at the guest house and it was immaculate Sufficient room but not vast. The bathroom and in particular the shower were just amazing. Spacious with lashings of hot water delivered at a very good pressure. I actually stayed in it about 20 minutes as the feeling of a spar shower was so good. To top it all there was so little steaming up. We had breakfast on two mornings and it could not be faulted offering a very wide range and selection of international as well as traditional food. We didn’t eat again until dinner. The staff were excellent from arrival to departure. I couldn’t recommend the hotel highly enough.

Easy pleasant check in, shown to room 8 which was large with king size bed and 2 single ones, large tv, kettle with lots of choice of drinks, biscuits. Large bathroom with walk in shower and jacuzzi bath. Small bottles of toiletries supplied with large towels that were super soft. Room was lovely and warm. Lots of private parking, Breakfast is in the hotel just across the car park. Small but cosy, buffet style, only thing need to change is they ask how you want your eggs and brought them before we had finished our fruit/cereal, good choice and tasty especially the sausages. Staff pleasant and welcoming. Lovely and clean throughout. Excellent location for restaurants and bars and about a 15 - 20 mins walk to center. Would stay again and recommend.

I stayed in the annexe. I'm a smoker and as a result it annoys me that if I want a smoke I have to get dressed and go through the hotel down stairs across lobby's etc to go outside for one, I booked the annexe specifically so I didn't have to do that and I'm very glad I did. My room was absolutely lovely. I found the bed to be comfortable and had a good nights sleep. The bathroom was equally lovely, nice and clean, bright and well stocked. Bonus microwave and fridge in my room which was awesome and I made good use of them. The room was well heated and I couldn't hear noise from anyone else whilst I stayed. The breakfast in the main hotel was really nice and I appreciated the freshly cooked egg I had. Overall a lovely stay.

A very well presented and cosy property which was beautifully decorated for Christmas. It sort of smells like your nan’s house used to but in a good way. The room was clean with good facilities, generous tea and coffee provision and some nice snackies. The bed was very comfy too and large enough for my husband’s 6’2 frame. Breakfast is self serve which suits us and there was plenty of hot and cold choice with eggs cooked to order. The coffee is also much better than you normally get in hotels. The staff were all very friendly with us. Free parking too which is always a bonus and not too far outside of Chester to walk or it’s only £5 in a taxi to the centre. Many thanks from the Walkers 🥰

Ray accommodated us when we discovered that Booking.com had given us a default of March when I thought I was booking February. He gave a room similar to the one we booked. The rooms are beautifully presented and warm, with kettle and fridge provided. Complimentary tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and decent sized cups on offer. Unfortunately the biscuits and hot chocolate were not replenished with servicing. Breakfast was everything you could want. Croissants, toast, eggs, bacon, tomatoes,  cheese, sausages, baked beans, mushrooms, cereal,  juice, yogurt, and fresh fruit. Overall I would definitely come back and recommend staying here.
